Sena activists take to the streetsShiv Sena activists took to streets in Bombay, seconds after the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party led Democratic Front government okayed action against party supremo Bal Thackeray for his alleged role in the infamous 1992-93 communal riots. In an immediate response to the government's move, Sena activists forced shop owners to shut down their shops and business establishments in several parts of the city, the police said. Movement in Sena dominated areas like Dadar, Parel, Lalbaug in the central suburbs and Malad, Andheri, Borivali and Goregoan in the western suburbs came to an instant halt as news of the DF government's decision spread, they added.
