Shiv Sena workers attack NCP headquarters in DelhiSuspected Shiv Sena activists hurled soda bottles and a flaming torch at the headquarters of the Nationalist Congress Party in New Delhi late on Sunday night in protest against the move to prosecute their leader, Bal Thackeray, in the 1992-93 Bombay riots case. About a dozen activists arrived in three vehicles at the NCP office at 10, Bishamber Dass Road, near Parliament House around 2330 IST and hurled soda bottles, burnt a banner and threw a torch before fleeing, police said on Monday. No one was hurt and no damage was caused in the attack. The activists shouted slogans against the Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra, apparently in protest against the state government's green signal to the police to prosecute the Sena leader under section 153-A (inciting communal enmity) of the Indian Penal Code. The involvement of Shiv Sena workers was evident from a cloth with party markings tied to the torch, a senior police officer said, adding that a case of attempting to burn down a house had been registered. Delhi Shiv Sena leader Jai Bhagwan Goyal expressed ignorance about the attack, but said, "I will not be surprised if Shiv Sainiks are involved. The boys are really agitated by the state government's decision." Goyal had led a demonstration outside Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi on Sunday to demand withdrawal of the government's decision.
