Krishna calls all-party meet to discuss SC verdict

Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna on Tuesday called for an all party meet to take discuss the latest development in the Dr Rajakumar kidnap episode.

This was announced by the Chief Minister in the state assembly after the Supreme Court ruled against the release Terrorism And Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act detenues, as demanded by Veerappan, in exchange for Dr Rajakumar.

"We expected the judgement to be on these lines," Krishna told the assembly.

The chief minister also stated that he had met Dr Rajakumar's family members in the morning and indicated that the Supreme Court's verdict will be along these lines.

However, Krishna stated that he was not aware of the emissaries' intention to go into the jungles for further negotiations with sandalwood smuggler Veerappan to secure the release of Dr Rajakumar.
