Rohit Verma's body brought to BombayOur correspondent in Bombay The body of Rohit Verma, one of those killed in an attack on gangster Chhota Rajan in Bangkok, arrived in Bombay at 1505 hours IST on Thursday. The body came by flight IC 110 (via Bangalore) to Santa Cruz airport, according to a top police official. It was not clear whether Rohit's wife or children accompanied the body. Earlier, it had been flown from Bangkok to Bangalore. Verma was a businessman and an associate of Rajan. According to the Thai police, he changed his name to Rohit D'Souza in Bangkok. He was with Rajan when the attack occurred last Friday. O P Singh, an associate of Rajan, had stated that Rohit saved Rajan when the assailants struck. However, in an interview to rediff.com, Rajan's rival Chhota Shakeel, who claims to have been behind the attack, had said that Rohit was his informer and he regretted his killing. Rohit was a resident of Vakola in Santa Cruz, a suburb of Bombay. Bombay Police Commissioner M N Singh has written to the Union home ministry, asking it to appeal to the Thailand government to extradite Rajan. As India does not have an extradition treaty with Thailand, a special request will be made to get Rajan extradited. EARLIER REPORTS
