Nagappa to meet Krishna, Parvathamma

R Sadananda in Chamarajanagar

Nagappa Maradagi, who escaped from the clutches of sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, will meet Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna and Kannada film icon Dr Rajakumar's wife Parvathamma in Bangalore on Friday morning.

Nagappa surfaced at Rajakumar's farmhouse at Gajanur on Thursday evening, two months after the bandit kidnapped the Kannada thespian along with three others.

Nagappa, who said he escaped, was weak and tired after 15 hours of walking through the jungle to freedom. The Karnataka police took him to Chamarajanagar on Thursday night.

Doctors treated him at the residence of the Chamarajanagar superintendent of police and he left for Bangalore on Friday at 0815 hours IST under heavy police protection.

"I want to meet the chief minister and Parvathamma. I will tell them everything," he told rediff.com.
