Pakistan to procure 40 F-7MG fighters from China

Pakistan and China are expected to sign an agreement in Beijing to procure at least 40 F-7MG fighter-interceptors to strengthen the Pakistani Air Force.

The Pakistani chief of air staff, Air Chief Marshal Mushaf Ali Khan, will visit China from February 21 in this connection.

Both countries will also sign another formal agreement between PAC Kamra and CATIC for joint production of the much-awaited Super 7-FC-1 fighter.

The two projects have been languishing for the last three years owing to the inability of the former PAF bosses to take the necessary decisions on various sub-systems to be installed on the F-7MG and Super 7-FC-1.

At least 40 F-7MGs are ready to be delivered to Pakistan and PAF pilots are believed to have carried out two test flights of the machine.

During his ten-day visit to China, Air Chief Marshal Khan will also conclude the deal for joint production of the Super 7-FC-1, a single-seat multi-role fighter.
