Bharatiya Janata Party president Jana Krishnamurthy on Sunday said that no NDA constituent should interfere in the affairs of states ruled by other partners.
Insisting that the BJP will not break its alliance with any of its partners, he hinted at 'some interesting developments' if the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) withdrew support to the ruling coalition.
Denying that the BJP's decision on Gujarat and Chief Minister Narendra Modi was in violation of the spirit of the NDA, the BJP chief felt that any such question should be raised within the NDA and not in public.
He countered that making the issue public before discussing it within the NDA was not, in fact, in keeping with the spirit of the NDA.
Krishnamurthy said though the TDP is not member of the NDA, it could have broached the issue about Modi's resignation with the NDA before going public about it.
Referring to the TDP's Parliamentary Board meeting taking place in Hyderabad, he said the BJP would accept whatever decision they take in this regard.
He denied that the BJP had drawn a Lakshman rekha at the Goa meeting, beyond which the party would not succumb to any kind of pressure from its partners.
He was also non-committal about forming a government in UP with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in exchange for supporting the NDA at the Centre.
"There is no such proposal so far. Any new decision regarding UP will be taken by the BJP's parliamentary board," he said.
