Himachal Pradesh Governor Suraj Bhan on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Agriculture Minister Vidya Sagar after Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal forwarded it to him on Monday night
The acceptance brings down the curtain on the month-long resignation drama.
Sagar had quit the ministry on November 15 demanding 27 per cent quota for Other Backward Castes in government jobs, official sources said.
He had also demanded the posting of some officials of his choice and more funds for developmental activities in his constituency.
Sagar said he had raised these issues several times with Dhumal, but nothing tangible had come out. He contended that his demands were legitimate.
