Singh will travel by the return flight of Air China's inaugural Beijing-Delhi service on March 28, marking the resumption of direct air links between the two countries.
Singh's visit to China - from March 29 to April two - is at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan.
The two sides are expected to discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations besides exchanging views on regional and international issues of common interest.
Considerable significance is being attached in China to Singh's visit, which comes as a follow-up to the visit to India in January by Chinese premier Zhu Rongji.
Singh is likely to convey India's concerns over terrorism to his Chinese counterpart.
During Zhu's visit, the two sides had agreed on a bilateral mechanism to counter terrorism and also to expedite the process of 'clarification' of the Line of Actual Control between the countries.
Singh will also call on the Chinese premier.
Apart from Beijing, he is scheduled to visit Shanghai, the booming metropolis in east China.
Singh last visited China in 1999 when bilateral ties were under strain in the wake of the Pokhran nuclear tests in May, 1998.
Singh will later visit South Korea and Myanmar.
