India and China will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Panchsheel, or five principles of peaceful coexistence, in a befitting manner through jointly agreed activities, including the release of a commemorative stamp, External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh has said.
"I will be hosting a major reception in New Delhi on 28 June to mark the occasion. A special stamp will also be released on the occasion," he said in Qingdao, east China.
Singh said Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao would address a special function at the Great Hall of People in Beijing on June 28.
Messages will be exchanged between the heads of state and government.
The Indian ambassador to China will host a reception, at which Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing will be the chief guest.
Both sides have also planned a series of cultural activities in each other's country to mark the occasion, the minister added.
The five principles, jointly initiated by India, China and Myanmar in 1954 include -- mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit and peaceful coexistence.
