Bhujbal was questioned at the State Reserve Police Force office in suburban Goregaon. The media learnt about Bhujbal's interrogation only late on Thursday.SIT has an office in Worli in south Mumbai and all interrogations in the stamps scam case so far, including that of Bhujbal's nephew, Sameer, had taken place there.
It turns out the request for a change of venue had come from Bhujbal.
Unconfirmed reports said the former deputy CM was questioned by DIGs Subodh Jaiswal, Hemant Nagarale and Sanjay Barwe.
The SIT suspects that Abdul Karim Telgi, the main accused in the scam, influenced important leaders of the Maharashtra government to secure transfers of police personnel to the postings of his choice.
