With yoga becoming increasingly popular in China, a yoga exhibition planned here will feature Indian trainers.

The '2005 China International Yoga Show and Conference' to be held in Beijing [Images] from October 21-23, will provide the Chinese people an opportunity to learn about yoga and healthy living, director of the exposition, Brian Zhang said.

"Preparations are going on smoothly and we are getting good response from yoga groups from many countries, including India," Brian said.

The show has the backing of the Indian Embassy in China.

"Yoga is now popular in China and more and more Chinese youngsters want to practice it as a means of relaxation as well as to keep fit," Brian said.

"Our aim is to host the largest-ever yoga show which would also bring China and India closer with many Indian yoga masters and practitioners taking part to demonstrate their skills to the Chinese audience for the first time," he said.

Brian said the event would provide an opportunity to exhibitors to showcase their products related to yoga, fitness and healthy living.
The show has gained support of India-based Kaivalyadhama G S Yoga Institution and other professional associations, he said.

The event is expected to attract over 300 exhibitors and between 80,000-100,000 visitors, he said.

"India would have the best exposure during the show since yoga originated from India", he said.

"We plan an Indian culture site aiming to introduce the background of Indian culture and the deep meaning of yoga fitness to the audience," he said, adding that live performances would give visitors an opportunity to experience the power of yoga.

The organisers of the event have also invited a Bangalore-based Indian yoga music group to perform during the show.

"This is something new for China," he said.

The show would also feature an exhibition of photographs on various yoga postures.
