Bangalore: Call centre employee found murdered

A 24-year-old woman working in a Bangalore call centre was murdered allegedly by the driver of a vehicle leased by her employer, a senior police official said on Friday.

The driver allegedly took the woman to an isolated place and slit her throat before dumping the body in a pit near Anjanapura layout, Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar said.

The driver, who has been arrested, has allegedly confessed committing the crime, Kumar said.

The police suspect the victim was raped before being killed.

Kumar said, in his confession, the accused said he forced the victim to withdraw money from a bank using her ATM card.

The woman had been married a software company professional eight months ago, Kumar said.

Further investigation is on.
