The Court of Inquiry into the sexual harassment charges levelled by Indian Air Force officer Anjali Gupta against her three superiors began its proceedings in Bangalore on Monday.

The court headed by Air Vice Marshal V M Iyer began by assessing the relevant documents, an IAF spokesman said.

Air Vice Marshal Iyer is being assisted by four officers, including two women.

The IAF announced the Court of Inquiry on April 27.

Gupta is separately facing court martial proceedings for indiscipline, insubordination and financial irregularities.

Gupta, employed at the Aircraft Systems and Testing Establishment in Bangalore, had made the sexual harassment charges in a letter to the chief of air staff and the Ministry of Defence on April 7.
