Union agriculture minister and chief of the ruling Nationalist Congress Party in Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar [Images], has reportedly opined that free power to farmers be scrapped to tide over the burgeoning power crisis in the state. Pawar was speaking to a TV news channel in Pune on Sunday. He said the Maharashtra government would have to take full responsibility for the power shortage in the state.
