Sharp differences among leaders of both sides of divided Kashmir on the issue of condemnation of terrorism at a conference in New Delhi Wednesday forced postponement of the joint statement to be issued by them till Thursday.

The leaders from Jammu and Kashmir [Images] and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir met in New Delhi twice during the day and tried to work out a consensus on the statement. The issue, according to the sources, was that PoK leaders, including Sardar Abdul Qayyum, wanted to keep condemnation of terrorism out of the statement while the leaders from Jammu and Kashmir wanted it to be incorporated in the document.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Qayyum suggested violence and dialogue could go on simultaneously.

"If Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] talks about dismantling the terrorist camps in PoK, then Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf [Images] talks about implementation of United Nations resolutions," was the reply of Qayyum to India's demand for dismantling the terrorist camps in PoK.
