Five construction workers were killed and as many injured when parts of a structure at the campus of software major Infosys [Get Quote] on Bangalore's outskirts collapsed on Wednesday, the police said.

The mishap occurred when glass panes and other materials of the 80-foot pyramid structure, which was being renovated, came crashing down on the workers, police said.

While four persons were killed instantly, another succumbed to injuries on his way to the hospital. A case of negligence has been booked against the contractor, the police said.
