Talking to newsmen at the residence of party leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday afternoon, Yediyurappa said problems between Kumaraswamy and his father, H D Deve Gowda will be sorted out before the coalition comes to power.
The BJP leader said that before he left for Delhi, Kumaraswamy had told him that he was staying back in the state capital to sort out legal problems, which had risen in the wake of the Karnataka High Court hearing a petition against the decision of the assembly Speaker to accord legitimacy to the split group of the JD-S.
The matter would again come up for hearing before a division bench.
"He told me that there is no change in his decision and the JD(S)-BJP government will take oath on Feburary 3. I would also be speaking to Deve Gowdaji on Thursday and plead with him to end the empasse," Yediyurappa said.
He denied that there was any threat to the formation of the new government because of the stand taken by former prime minister who said that under no circumstance will he have any truck with the 'communal' BJP.
Earlier, Venkaiah Naidu denied that the BJP had driven a wedge between the father and the son. "We are here to solve problems, not to create them. We have no doubt that things will be smoothened out and Kumaraswamy will meet the BJP leadership either on Februrary 2 or after the swearing in ceremony is over," he said.
