Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said the government would soon take a decision on the action to be taken on the communal clashes that claimed two lives in the coastal belt of the state last week.

Addressing a press conference in Mangalore, he said he would discuss the issue with Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Home Minister M P Prakash and other officials.

The government, Kumaraswamy said, has collected the reports on the issue from the district administration and will decide on the future course of action. It will also decide on the type of enquiry to be conducted and compensation to be given to the victims.

Leaders of both communities reportedly involved in the incident, have submitted petitions, he said adding, these will be considered after looking into all aspects.
