While a group of Indians scourge Pakistani jails to look for their relatives missing in war, there is one woman whose agonising wait to meet her brother has been prolonged.

Neena Sharma, sister of Major Subhash Chandra Guleri, who went missing during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, is 'disappointed' over not being part of a 12-member delegation from India that went to Pakistan on June 1 in search of their prisoners of war kin.

Neena, the lone surviving family member of Major Guleri, a resident of Shamnagar district of Himachal Pradesh, had waited long for this opportunity but her name not figuring in the list of delegation to Pakistan has caused her heartbreak.

"Neena and I were very hopeful of making to Pakistan to search for Major Guleri of 9 Jat regiment...But with our names missing from the list, we are very disappointed," said Surinder Sharma, Neena's lawyer husband. "But we are hopeful that our turn will come soon if God wishes."

Guleri was declared a martyr fighting the enemies in 1971 Indo-Pak war in Chamb sector. But later, his family received a message that the Major was alive and languishing in a Pakistani jail as PoW.

Major Guleri, who was married to Snehlata of neighbouring Harsar village of Kangra district in 1971, had to leave for the war just four days after the wedding.

After 20 years of waiting, his wife died in 1991.
