Janata Dal-Secular chief H D Deve Gowda on Thursday said that there is no question of him holding talks with senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in New Delhi on the transfer of power until the BJP in Karnataka sorted out its internal differences.

Gowda was referring to the divide in the BJP over the statements made by Tourism Minister Sriramulu against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy. The tourism minister had stated that the CM had tried to kill him and had also given a complaint in this regard. The BJP in the state was however divided on the course of action to be initiated against Sriramulu.

Gowda also said that for the first time in the history of Indian politics has he witnessed such a development in which a cabinet minister has given a complaint against the chief minister.

On whether power would be transferred at all, Gowda said that he did not wish to talk about it as the time was not right to discuss this issue. "Let the BJP sort out their problems first," he said. Speaking in defense of his son, Gowda said Kumaraswamy as chief minister had a lot of patience. He said the chief minister had kept quiet when the BJP leaders were making unwarranted allegations against him. "How much can one keep quiet," Gowda questioned.
