No Indians were affected by the devastating earthquake in Chinese southwest Sichuan province, which had claimed at least 8,500 lives, Indian embassy sources said in Beijing [Images] on Monday.
"No problem (has been reported) so far, as far as Indians are concerned," embassy sources told PTI.
The embassy had checked with known contacts in Chengdu and other sources, they said.
The massive tremor measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale had hit Sichuan province and caused heavy devastation in the neighbouring provinces of Gansu and Yunnan and Chongqing municipality.
