All eyes are on Dobbspet, a tiny town 50 km away from Bangalore, where a set of leaders is all set to rework the 1996 magic called the Third Front.

Leaders from the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Telugu Desam, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Forward Block, Bahujan Samaj Party will take part in the rally which is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am.

The idea to hold a Third Front rally was mooted by Janata Dal (S) supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda.

TDP leader and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu [Images] told reporters that the Third Front would form a government at the Centre similar to one that was formed in 1996.

The other leaders who take part are: Prakash Karat [Images], AB Bardhan, Chandrababu Naidu (TDP) and AIADMK's Maithreyan.

The BSP will be represented by its general secretary Sathish Mishra.

Meanwhile, Naidu has said he will not vie for the prime ministerial slot if the Third Front gets power at the Centre.

After a brief meeting in Bangalore, Naidu said he never aspired for prime minister's post. Naidu said Third Front's prime ministerial candidate had not been decided.
