Delhi cops nab alleged killer of Gulshan Kumar's assassin
The Delhi police have nabbed the person who is believed to have killed the murderer of music magnate Gulshan Kumar.
The police said Sumit Shukla, who allegedly killed Gulshan Kumar's murderer Vikram Wahi, was arrested along with six other members of the Babloo Srivastava gang, after a shoot-out in south Delhi's Green Park area on Thursday evening.
According to the police, the gang was planning to kidnap a number of top businessmen in Delhi and demand ransom. The police said that during the interrogation Sumit Shukla had revealed that he had murdered Wahi, who allegedly killed Gulshan Kumar at gang leader Abu Salem's behest.
Wahi's body was recovered in two pieces -- the head from Nepal and the body from Gorakhpur near the Indian border. Wahi was apparently killing for leaving Srivastava's gang and joining the rival outfit run by Chotta Rajan.
The other gang members arrested at Green Park were identified as Abhay Singh, Raj Verma, Ashish Mathur and Sanjay Johri (all from Lucknow), Krishen Kesth from Kathmandu and Manisha alias Babli from Bombay.
The police said the seven gangsters were staying at different hotels here and had gathered at Green Park when policemen surrounded them. The criminals were overpowered after a brief encounter in which there was no casualty, police sources said. Two revolvers, a cellular phone and two cars were recovered.
