Bhupati-Lucic in Wimbledon quarters

The Mahesh Bhupati-Mirjana Lucic pairing, seeded fifth at the ongoing Wimbledon championships, moved into the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles event.

The pair defeated Donald Johnson of the United States and Sonya Jayaseelan of Canada 7-6 (7-1), 6-3), late on Thursday.

Bhupati, in tandem with Japan's Nika Hiraki, had won the French Open mixed doubles title in 1997. Since then, however, he has been constantly changing partners, Lucic being his latest ally in arms.
