Tendulkar to seek medical help in Australia

Sachin Tendulkar said today he will be going to Australia to seek expert advice on his back injury though he is not sure when he will make the trip.

Tendulkar, who returned to Bombay after the triangular tournament in Singapore where India lost the final to the West Indies, said Dr Anant Joshi will accompany him.

It is believed that he will seek the opinion of the same doctor who had treated Shane Warne for his shoulder ailment.

Tendulkar's back problems started in March during the first Test against Pakistan in Madras. It forced him to miss the subsequent triangular one-day series in India and Sharjah. After being treated by Dr Kennedy in England, he was fit play in the World Cup.

However, the injury again surfaced during the Indian team's Madras conditioning camp for the Sri Lankan triangular series and though he declared himself fit to play in the tournament, it forced him to sit out of the match against Australia. He was back for the next match and scored a fighting century, but it was clear that he batted in considerable pain.

Tendulkar played in the Singapore Challenge but only after ruling himself out of the Toronto series.
