Warne signs for HampshireAustralian leg-spinner Shane Warne will play for Hampshire in the English County Championship next year. Warne, 30, signed a deal worth more than 162,000 dollars to replace fast bowler Nixon McLean who is likely to be touring England with the West Indies. ''This signing is a wonderful way to emphasise the extent of our ambitions,'' Hampshire chief executive Tony Baker said today. Hampshire need to beat Derbyshire in their final match of the season to ensure a place in the new first division next season. The match started yesterday. Meanwhile, England left-arm pace bowler Alan Mullally is expected to leave Leicestershire at the end of the season after ten years with last year's County champions. Mullally, 30, was offered a new three-year contract but said he had decided to quit and and was open to offers from another county. UNI
