Azhar 'satisfied' with recovery

Former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin, on the verge of turning out for the Moin-ud-Daulah Trophy tournament, said there was no question of using it to stage a comeback as he had never quit the game.

"I am not making a comeback," Azhar told the media. "I was not playing because I was unfit and injured."

Asked about captaincy, Azhar chose to brush the question aside, saying, "I have enjoyed the game, whether I have been captain or not."

Azharuddin professed satisfaction at the recovery he has made in the last few months. "Initially I thought it would take four months to recover, but now, in just two and a half months, I am able to throw from 30 yards without pain," said the veteran who has recently undergone a corrective shoulder operation.

The former Indian skipper said the recent spate of injuries to top players was due to too much cricket being played these days. He, however, said he had no comment to make about the performance of the team after the World Cup, during the period he was out of the squad.
