Prasar Bharti -BCCI sign telecast deal

Prasar Bharti today signed a Rs 2300 million, five-year agreement with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, securing all forms of telecast and broadcast rights for international and domestic cricket matches conducted by the BCCI within the country.

Addressing a press conference immediately after signing the agreement, Prasar Bharti chief R.R. Shah and BCCI president A.C. Muthiah described the deal as a ''landmark document which opens a new chapter in the relationship between the two public bodies".

As per the agreement, Prasar Bharti will pay 10.5 million dollars to the BCCI every year towards telecast rights and, in turn, will cover a minimum of 27 days of international cricket, including at least seven one-internationals a year.
