Bengal paddlers have field daySuresh Parekh in Rajkot It was the day of Bengal paddlers. They came, saw and conquered. Such was their dominance that they had grabbed three slots in the semi-finals of the sub-junior girls' singles in the National ranking table tennis tournament on Friday. In one of the biggest upsets of the day, unseeded Anushi Saha played perhaps the best match of her short career to topple top seed J Swarna of Tamil Nadu in the quarter-final 21-9, 21-15, 21-15. She will meet teammate Sukanya Bose in the first semi-final. The other semi-final will be between S. Mahalanobiss and Munmun Basak who both notched easy victories in their respective quarter-final matches. Another upset came in the sub-junior boys' singles when Omkar Joglekar of Maharashtra defeated second seeded Arpit Bhopalkar of PSCBA in four games. He will take on Samir Prabhu in the semi-final.
