Salas could play for Chile in SydneyLazio striker Marcelo Salas is considering playing in the Olympic Games for Chile, Lazio's sporting director said on Wednesday. "He's thinking about it, but it's not certain. A decision is likely in the coming days," Felice Pulic told Reuters. Pulic said the decision depended on how much time Salas would be left to train for the new season -- which has a delayed start in Italy of October 1 -- if he played for the Olympic side as one of the permitted over-age players. The Olympic final will be played in Syndey on September 30 and although the tournament is primarily for Under-23 players, each squad is allowed to include three over-age players. Salas is 26 on Christmas Eve. On Monday, Salas played a key role in Chile's 3-0 humiliation of Brazil, scoring once and creating the other two goals in their South American World Cup qualifier.
