Pepsi pickings for Test, one-day seriesThe South Africans are here, and it's 'Test-ing' time again as they battle it out with India in the two-Test Pepsi series followed by the five-match one-day series, for the Pepsi Cup 2000. The team, led by Hansie Cronje, begins its six-week India tour on Saturday with a three-day match against the Board President's XI at Bombay's Brabourne stadium. It is the only match before the Pepsi Test series - the first at the Wankhede stadium from February 24 to 28 and the second at Bangalore's Chinnaswamy stadium from March 2 to 6. This follows the Pepsi Cup 2000 one-day matches, which will be played in coloured clothing, with black sight screen and white Kookaburra balls even though all matches are day affairs. The first match is at Cochin on March 9. The other matches in the series will be played at Jamshedpur (March 12), Faridabad (March 15), Baroda (March 17) and Nagpur (March 19). To add excitement to the series, Pepsi has a slew of promotions lined-up for its lucky consumers, like flying one to Dhaka for the Pepsi Asia Cup championship in May. But most prominent of these is a 'sixer' promotion for the one-dayers, where every time a batsman hits a six - the first 25 consumers who call in a central number will get a case of Pepsi 500 ml home delivered. The promo will run in select cities. The Pepsi Test matches will be telecast live on Doordarshan's Sports channel while the Pepsi Cup one-day international matches will be telecast live simultaneously on DD National and DD Sports.
