India third in four-nation tourneySpain won the four-nation tournament in Barcelona after defeating India 5-3 in their concluding match on Saturday. The victory over India gave the home team a 3-0 record. India, who beat Canada 1-0 in their opening match on Thursday, finished third following a 1-2 defeat against Germany on Friday. Germany, who beat Canada 5-2, took second place with two wins, the only loss being against Spain, while Canada finished at the bottom. In the match against India, Spain ran up an early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Victor Pujol in the fifth minute and Josep Sanchez in the eighth. However, India fought back and levelled scores with goals from Sameer Dad, in the 27th minute, and Mukesh Kumar, in the 35th. But Spain came back strongly early in the second half with Sanchez scoring in the 37th and 42nd minutes and Pujol adding a second in the 49th. Dilip Tirkey scored India's third goal in the 61st minute.
