Caniggia joins DundeeArgentine forward Claudio Caniggia joined Scottish premier league side Dundee and said he hoped the move might rekindle his international career. The former Roma, Benfica and Boca Juniors player, 33, on Wednesday signed a short-term contract until the end of the season to replace injured compatriot Fabian Caballero who is out for six months with a knee injury. Caniggia, who played in the 1990 World Cup final but earned the last of his 47 caps two years ago, told a news conference he felt he could regain his place in the Argentine national squad. ''The coach has told me I am in his thoughts,'' he said. ''I am not just here to play a few games and play the season out. I feel young and I feel I can give a lot.''
