Churchill rally to down SalgaocarA goal in arrears Churchill Brothers rallied splendidly to get the better of Salgaocar Sports Club by the odd goal in three in a fifth National Football League match, at the Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Goa, on Sunday. Salgaocar drew first blood as early as the sixth minute through Dennis Cabral, who did well to score from a well-measured pass from Bruno Coutinho. They then called the shots for a major part of the first session though Churchill had three good chances towards the end of the session, as Igor Shkvrin, Roque Barretto and Jose Colaco failed to score when well placed. But Churchill were rewarded for their hard work midway through the second session. Shkvrin latched on to a pass from Andre Requena to restore parity. The success saw Churchill go all out for ther match-winner and they got it two minutes from time following a flag kick. Substitute Somatai Shaiza scored after Osamanu Husseni's header hit the upright. It was Churchill's fourth successive victory. They have 28 points from 17 matches. Former champions Salgaocar have 23 points.
