India, England clash in semisDefending champions England eased into the men's semifinals of the team event in the Commonwealth table tennis championships with a 4-0 win over Canada on Sunday. England, who rested their best player Matthew Syed, will play hosts India, who beat Australia by the same score, in the last four. The other semifinal will be played between last year's runners-up Singapore, who beat Wales 4-0, and Nigeria, who overcame New Zealand 4-2 in a three-hour tussle. In the women's competition, world number 13 Jin Jun Hong beat Roussy Marie Christine 18-21, 21-12, 21-15 as defending champions Singapore swept into the last four stage with a 4-0 rout of Canada. Singapore will take on New Zealand, who beat Northern Ireland 4-1, while India and Malaysia will meet in the other semifinal. India beat Australia 4-2 and Malaysia defeated Wales 4-0.
