Churchill finish third

Zee Churchill Brothers rallied in the second half to beat F C Kochin by a convincing 3-1 margin, at Margoa, Goa, and finish third in the fifth National Football League which concluded on Monday.

F C Kochin, who needed a draw to finish third, took the lead in the 31st minute through Aaron Cole.

Churchill found the equaliser in 47th minute through Igor Shkrivin.

The Goa side was in full flow in the second half and went into the lead in the 52nd minute through substitute Abhishek Yadav. Another substitute Ajay Singh consolidated the lead in the 73rd minute to seal the the Kerala team's hopes of staging a comeback.

The victory took Churchill to third place, displacing F C Kochin, with 36 points from 22 matches. F C Kochin finished fourth with 34 points.

Churchill earned a cash prize of Rs 1.6 million while Kochin received Rs 900,000 for finishing fourth.
