Goa and Kerala advance to quartersStrong contenders Goa finished on top of Cluster IV as they warmed up for their quarter-final battle, beating Pondicherry 1-0 in their final league match in the Junior National football championship in Jaipur on Sunday. In Cluster I, Kerala finished on top, as they got a walkover from Mizoram. Joe Rodrigues headed in the all-important goal for Goa in the 17th minute to help his team top the cluster with 12 points. In another match in the same cluster, Karnataka also scored a solitary goal victory over Chandigarh, the all-important goal coming through Clarence goal in the 74th Minute. Karnataka finished second in the group with nine points. Delhi, with four points, Chandigarh (2) and Pondicherry (1) were the other teams in the cluster. In Cluster I, Kerala finished with 10 points. In another match, Nagaland drew 1-1 with Haryana. Meghalaya and Nagaland finished with seven points but the former took the second spot with a better goal average.
