Gopichand to meet Siddharth Jain in final

Top seeds Pulella Gopichand and Aparna Popat expectedly moved into the final of the men's and women's singles respectively in the Senior National badminton championships with straight games win over their opponents in Jaipur on Tuesday.

World No. 6 Gopichand outclassed his Petroleum Sports Control Board team mate, fourth seed Abhinn Shyam Gupta before winning 15-10, 15-6 to set up title clash with Siddharth Jain.

Third seed Siddharth drubbed fifth seeded Chetan Anand 15-10, 15-2 in another all-PSCB semi-final.

The women's final will also be an all-PSCB affair with the top two seeds fighting it out for the title.

While Aparna trounced fifth seed Divya Ramesh of BAI 11-3, 11-3, second seed Manjusha Kanwar defeated fourth seed B R Meenakshi of Karnataka 11-5, 11-6 to move into the final.
