Mattoo resigns as IOA vice-presidentSenior sports administrator Ashok Mattoo on Monday resigned as vice-president of the Indian Olympic Association after ceasing to be president of the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation. "I have informed IOA president Suresh Kalmadi that I am stepping down from the post of vice-president as I ceased to have represenation when I handed over charge of IABF president to Abhay Singh Chautala at Chennai on Saturday," Mattoo said. "What I have done (quitting as IOA vice-president) is in the best traditions of civilised behaviour," Mattoo, who was chef-de-mission of the Indian contingent to the Sydney Olympic Games in September last year, said, adding: "I have assured Kalmadi that I am always available in the service of Indian sport, in general, and boxing, in particular, in my personal capacity."
