Tollygunge hold Vasco goallessTollygunge Aggragami did well to snatch a point in their seventh round match against Vasco from a goalless draw in the fifth National Football League, in Calcutta on Thursday. The draw enabled the Calcutta outfit swell their tally to six points while Vasco moved to 13 points and also maintained their unbeaten run in the league. The Tollygunge-Vasco match was keenly fought. Tollygunge, who have generally relied on a defensive game under coach Amal Dutta, had themselves to blame for not collecting full points as their forwards squandered a number of gilt-edged opportunities in both sessions. The Goan outfit started with a flourish, launching a series of raids from both the flanks, but could not sustain the tempo and were found at the receiving end as the match wore on, with their opponents applying pressure with speedy counter-attacks. The Goa outfit, making their maiden appearance in the National League, have put up a decent performance in the championship thus far. However, their two strikers -- Peter Rodrigues and Edson Wanderley -- could not make much of an impact in Thursday's match. In another seventh round match, on Wednesday, State Bank of Travancore and Mahindra United drew 2-2.
