Malaysia, India draw second Test

Our Correspondent

The visiting Malaysians juniors rallied to hold their Indian counterparts to a 2-2 draw in the second match of the four-Test series at the Begumpet grounds in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

India had won the first match of the series on Monday.

India opened their account in the 18th minute when international Deepak Thakur scored with a reverse flick.

At the lemon break, India led 1-0.

But the Malaysians came back strongly in the second half and scored in the 48th minute when their skipper Boon Huat found the net from a goalmouth melee.

They went into the lead when Olympian Jiwa scored in the 60th minute.

However, two minutes later, Somesh Kantha scored the equaliser for the home team.

Wednesday is a rest day. The third Test will be played on Thursday.
