Kunal Rawal maintains lead

Kunal Rawal maintained his top position in the Challengers round at the ColorPlus National bowling championship with a score of 2638. Avit Nazareth, the top player in the Qualifiers' round, was second with a score of 2607 points.

The above scores are cumulative of six games of Challengers' round and eight games of the Qualifiers' round) at the end of Round One of the second day’s play of the Challengers round.

Rawal and Nazareth were followed by N Jayakumar, who is on 2605 points.

Saad Sayeed, with 2605 points; Aljai Batheja, with 2568; Grish Chhughani, with 2563; Nitin Shah, with 2552; and Vivek Hate, with 2549, were among the top eight bowlers at the end of Round One.

In the Challengers round each bowler bowls eight games each and the top six scorers qualify for the finals of the championship, scheduled for October 2001.
