Third world record for dominant Moses
American Ed Moses cracked his third world breaststroke record in two days on Wednesday to complete his domination of a World Cup meeting.
On the second and final day in the short-course competition, he clocked 57.47 seconds to win the 100 metres breaststroke, improving on his previous best of 57.66 set at Minneapolis in March 2000.
Russia's Roman Sludnov, the world 100 metres breaststroke long-course champion, set a European record by finishing second in 57.73 while Ukrainian Oleg Lisogor placed third in 57.97.
On Tuesday, Moses had broken the 50 and 200 metre world breaststroke records.
"Three records in two days - it's probably been the best two days of swimming in my whole life," Moses said.
"But I didn't go out quite as fast tonight. I didn't feel like myself during the race."
Sweden's Emma Igelstrom set a second world record on the night, winning the women's 50 metres breaststroke in 30.43 seconds.
She broke Chinese swimmer Luo Xuejuan's record of 30.47 set in Paris on January 19.
Great Britain's Zoe Baker clocked 30.62 to come in second while South African Sarah Poewe was third in 31.02.
"I was very surprised as I wasn't aiming at a record. But my goal was to win," Igelstrom said. "It wasn't a perfect race, my finish was poor."
