Ronaldo injured in training match

Brazil striker Ronaldo has suffered another injury scare while training with his club Inter Milan during a practice game in Majorca on Thursday.

He had to leave the pitch at halftime during the friendly match against a Real Mallorca B team with a muscle problem, according to Italian news agency ANSA.

ANSA quoted Inter team manager Bruno Bartolozzi saying: "We're not treating it as something bad, just a small hindrance, tired muscles".

Ronaldo later tried to calm fears when he said: "We're still making provisions for my re-entry to the team. We've been saying that I will work to return first in as good a shape as possible.

"There are moments in which you think you can accelerate, but instead you must have patience. On Friday I will continue my programme."

Ronaldo was expected to play a part for Inter this weekend against Venezia following a month out with a thigh strain.

After recovering from a two-year absence with knee injuries, Ronaldo wants to help his club win their first Serie A championship since 1989.

He has pledged his future to Inter -- snubbing a possible move to English champions Manchester United.

"I will stay at Inter for life," Ronaldo was quoted as saying in Thursday's Corriere Dello Sport.

The Brazil forward has been linked in the Italian press with a move to United in exchange for David Beckham.

Ronaldo added: "We're first in the table and want to stay there. Inter must be aggressive and work for each other.
