Indian tennis ace Leander Paes expressed confidence that he would be fully fit to take the courts in two months after the doctors at Mumbai gave him the medical clearance following a MRI scan on Tuesday.
"It was a very troublesome three months' absence from active tennis after a parasitic cyst was diagnosed in August," the Davis Cup player said, adding that he was very happy to get the medical clearance and would start working to reach peak form and fitness immediately.
"I am really elated to learn from the doctors the MRI scan has shown that the cyst has reduced considerabaly to one-third of its size and it is just a matter of time before I get back to professional tennis", he said.
The doctors at Bombay Hospital also confirmed that the cyst had reduced in size from 9 mm to 3 mm and that Paes was in good shape, after shedding 15 kgs since he fell ill and should be able to start working out soon. He would, however, require another MRI early next year.
Paes also said that he would be at the peak of his fitness level for next year's Olympics at Athens though he is likely to take part in Australian Open (doubles event) in January.
"I am really relieved and happy to have overcome the ailment. I am very grateful to the doctors who attended on me and it is the blessings and love of my family, friends and fans which has helped me in my recovery", he added.
