Prabhjot Singh fired in two goals as Indian Oil blanked South Central Railways, Secunderabad 5-0 to secure a semi-final berth in the ONGC-Nehru hockey tournament at New Delhi on Tuesday.

In the semi-final to be played tomorrow, Indian Oil will face Border Security Force who pipped Punjab and Sind Bank 3-2 in the other quarter-final riding on Habil Topno's golden goal.

Oil team had to shed too little sweat in dismissing the challenge of their opposition in the one-sided match at Shivaji Stadium.

The team took a strong hold of the match in the first half itself after Prabhjot Singh scored in the 22nd and 32nd minute.

There was no change in fortune for the Railways after the half time as Hamza added to the tally in the 41st minute. Deepak Thakur made it 4-0 four minutes later before Hamza hit the last nail in Railway's coffin with a 50th minute strike.

BSF deservedly emerged the winner as they, continuing the good work, took a 2-0 lead by the 27th minute.

Marinus Lakra scored a field goal in the 11th minute before John Jojo swelled the lead further in the 27th minute.

But the Bank team bounced back hard slamming home two goals -- Navpreet Singh (31st) and Ajit Pal Singh (34th) -- in a space of three minutes as the sides went to the breather with the scoreline reading 2-2.

A barren second half failed to deadlock following which the match went into the extra time four minutes into which Topno scored the winner. In another semi-final to be played tomorrow, Bharat Petroleum will take on Punjab Police.
