Pakistan captain Muhammad Saqlain has been suspended for three international matches after being found guilty of dangerous conduct by the FIH Judicial Commission.

At the hearing held at the FIH office in Lausanne, Switzerland [Images], last Sunday, Saqlain was found guilty of deliberately raising his stick at the Hamburg Masters in August.

The incident was referred to the FIH Judicial Commission after Australia's Craig Victory suffered a broken jaw and other facial injuries.

The suspension will be served at FIH world level events, meaning that Saqlain is unable to compete in Pakistan's opening three clashes at the Sahara Hockey Champions Trophy in Chennai, India, next week, if selected.

In addition, Saqlain was ordered to pay expenses of not more than 1000.
