In an apparent move to conserve herself for big event, top woman shuttler Aparna Popat had decided to give a skip to the Jakarta Satellite and Malaysian Open badminton tournaments.

Aparna, currently ranked 34 in the world, would however participate in the Singapore Open beginning on June 27.

The Jakarta Satellite begins on June 21 while the Malaysian Open is slated for July 5.

"Not taking part in the Jakarta Satellite would give me more time for training," Popat said in Bangalore on Friday.

The National champion had missed the Sudirman Cup championship held in China last month due to acute vertigo. She has since recovered and been training under her coach Ganguly Prasad at Sports Authority of India campus in Bangalore.

"I feel much better; I am far more confident," she said.

Apart from her decision to cut down on tournaments that she takes part, another key reason for not participating in the three Asian circuit events at a stretch is the fact that she is not confident that she would be able to sustain her fitness levels.

After the Singapore Open, Aparna would spearhead the Indian ladies challenge in the IBF World Championships to be held in Anaheim, USA from August 15.
