League scoring leader Allen Iverson poured in 48 points to lead the Philadelphia 76rers to a 118-111 win over the Bucks in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Iverson, who had an NBA season-high 60 points against Orlando last month, had looked poised to improve on that effort, scoring 20 points in the opening quarter and hitting 30 at the half.

However, the all-star game MVP could not keep up his relentless pace after the break, settling for his seventh 40-plus performance this season as the 76ers registered their first win since February 14.

Iverson has feasted on the Bucks throughout his career reaching the 40-point plateau six times, including three times this season.

Kyle Korver added 20 points to the Philadelphia effort while recently acquired Chris Webber chipped in with 15.

Michael Redd had 35 points for the Bucks, including a perfect 14-of-14 from the free throw line.

In Chicago, Tracy McGrady scored 32 points and Mike James added 26 as the Houston Rockets blasted the Bulls 119-89, to snap a three-game losing streak.

Eddy Curry had 17 points for Chicago and Ben Gordon added 15 as the Bulls absorbed their worst defeat of the season.

In Denver, Carmelo Anthony notched 23 points in leading the Nuggets to a 97-74 win over the woeful Atlanta Hawks, who suffered their 20th consecutive road defeat.

Andre Miller and Earl Boykins each had 14 points for the Nuggets.

Al Harrington led Atlanta with 18 while Obinna Ekezie was the only other Hawk in double figures scoring 12.

In Indianapolis, Rashard Lewis hit for 30 points, including 10 in the final five minutes as the Seattle SuperSonics rallied to claim a 101-93 win over the Pacers.

It was a bad night got Indiana, who finished the game without coach Rick Carlisle after he was ejected for collecting two technical fouls.

Ray Allen contributed 18 points for the SuperSonics while Vladimir Radmanovic notched 14.

Stephen Jackson had 28 points and Jermaine O'Neal added 18 for the Pacers.

In Memphis, Mike Miller made a key steal and two clutch free throws in the final 11 seconds as the Grizzlies held off the slumping Golden State Warriors 99-97.

Trailing by 16 points in the third quarter, the Warriors trimmed the Grizzlies advantage 96-95 on a Baron Davis layup with a minute to play.

However, Miller snuffed out the comeback stealing a pass intended for Davis and then making a pair of free throws.

Shane Battier led the Grizzlies with a season-high 25-point performance while Brian Cardinal had 20 and Miller finished with 19 points and nine rebounds.

In Portland, the Detroit Pistons got double figure efforts from six players, including 20 points from Richard Hamilton to cruise to a 103-93 win over the Trail Blazers.

Antonio McDyess added 18 while Damon Stoudamire countered with 19 for Portland.

In Charlotte, Primoz Brezec had 19 points and Brevin Knight added 17 points and dished out 10 assists to lead the Bobcats past the under-manned Sacramento Kings 94-87.

Without Petja Stojakovic, Brad Miller and Darius Songaila in the line-up the Kings were easy pickings for the Bobcats, who led by 17 points in the third quarter.

The Bobcats also received a solid 11 point, 13 rebound effort from rookie Emeka Okafor while recently acquired Corliss Williamson led the Kings with 18 points.
